Manali is a famous hill station of Himachal Pradesh situated on the banks of river Beas. This beautiful hill station, situated between the two major ranges of the vast Himalayas, the Dhauladar and Pir Panjal ranges, is very popular among tourists. It attracts lakhs of tourists from India and abroad throughout the year due to natural beauty and adventure activities and proximity to the national capital. The distance between New Delhi and Manali is 560 km (10-11 hours). Famous for its apple orchards, there are many best places to visit in Manali such as: Hadimba Devi Temple (dedicated to Hadimba Devi, wife of Bhima),Manu Temple (dedicated to an old sage Manu), Vashisht Temple, Beas River ,Tibetan Monastery ,Mall Road ,Club House, jogini Waterfalls ,Solang Valley(14km ) for Zorbing and paragliding ,skiing, and snow based activities .The distance from Manali to Rohtang Pass is 51 kms. Rohtang La is the best place to see snow throughout the year. A permit is required to visit Rohtang. And it is closed to traffic on Tuesdays. October to June is the best time to visit Manali.
